Which baby keepsake book would you recommend?

I’m looking for a book to record my baby’s firsts, information about the birth, footprints & such. Does anyone have any recommendations for such books? Any ones that you’ve really liked, or really disliked, and why?

Thanks!

What kind of breastfeeding information would like to see on an article?

I have a chance to write an article on breastfeeding for a magazine. There are so many important things to know about breastfeeding, I wouldn’t know where to start. Any good ideas for a topic would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance! :)
LOL!! Mystic, I said an article, not a book!!!! Hehehe, no really, those are all important things to know. Thanks!

Would people pay for a unique personalized baby book?

Before my daughter was born, I decided I wanted to make a special baby book for her. Traditional baby books bore me and I lack the artistic ability to “scrapbook.” Therefore I combined my computer skills with my unique sense of humor and created something completely different. Anyway, friends and family encouraged me to try to create and then sell personalized books. I didn’t know if there is a market for such a thing. And I didn’t know if people would even pay for something so personal. I would appreciate any input on the subject.
I wanted to thank everyone for all of the great input you gave me. I am definitely inspired to take the take step. I am going to try and post my ideas on a web site over the weekend and see where it goes from there. But please contact me if you think you might be interested in a book of your own and I can try and provide you with more details. By the way, this may come as a shocker, while many of you have incorrectly assumed I am a mom, it turns out that I am actually a proud stay at home dad.

Why would you want to baby-proof your house?

My wife just had a baby, and we were looking at a list we got from my mother all the things we need to do now that we have a new baby. Some things were obvious, like buying diapers. Other things I would not have even thought about, did you know babies can’t eat regular food? We were looking over the list while I was making steaks … anyway …

One thing though I just don’t understand; The fourth thing on the list is “Baby proof” the house. Now that we got one, are strayt babies going to be a big problem? I kind of figured it’d be a good idea to take them in. What about my baby, if he got left outside, would he not be able to crawl back in? (Oh and is it normal for the new baby not to crawl?)

Will baby proofing prevent kids as well? I don’t mind so much the babies, but the idea of a dozen first graders running around is scary! What age limits does apply to the proofing, and in any way will it harm the babies, or kids? I don’t care if they harm the teenagers.

Poor stray babies.

Serious Poll: How many of you would purchase a beautiful diaper cake as a gift/centerpiece for the new mom?

If you’ve never seen one, it’s shaped like a 1-3 layer wedding cake if you can picture it with ribbons and gifts for the new baby. They can be elegent with flowers or adorned with cute characters/themes that the parents have chosen for their new bundle of joy. I’m just wanting some idea as to how many people might find this interesting, creative and worth purchasing. Thanks for your comments.

What pregnancy book would you like to see?

If you had some input, what sort of pregnancy book would you like to be available? Would it be a book on labor affirmations? Would it be a book about how to cope with pregnancy discomforts? What would it be?

Mainstream pregnancy books can offer some wonderful advice. But, what is it you would like to read that is not currently available?

How would you explain breastfeeding to a 4 year old?

I have a 4 yr old son and I am pregnant and planning to breastfeed. Eventually, no matter how much I try to stay in another room, he will “catch” me breastfeeding the baby. I think I should explain whats going on ahead of time so he isn’t too confused but I have no idea how.
